About the event
People who are starting out in music often don't get taught the basic skills of how to manage their careers as professional artists. Even as an artist progresses, the topic of money and running your career with any business savvy is often a taboo topic. In this 2.5 hour event, we'll cover the basics of what you need to know to get your business running as a professional musician. Topics covered will include:
- What an ABN is, how to apply for one and how it's used
- How to write an invoice and receive payments
- How to talk about money in a confident manner when related to your music and what to charge
- What insurances and agreements you might like to consider
- What apps and pieces of software can help you run your music career much more smoothly.Â
If there are questions we're unable to answer, we'll point you in the right direction or make sure to find out for you!Â
This talk will also be recorded so anyone unable to attend can still access the replay.
